No Amnesty Today.

Anyone who took the time to read any of the Immigration Reform Bill (Amnesty Bill) that was recently proposed (along with the hundreds of pages of amendments), should have come to the conclusion that the bill was not a good idea. There was very little in the bill that was worth saving and working on.
People (and by people, I mean our government representatives), have gotten hung up on doing ‘something’ about immigration and the illegal alien influx that the U.S. has been experiencing over the last 20 years. What they have missed the point on… is that there are already laws in place that address nearly all of the concerns that have been voiced… they just aren’t being enforced. The additional concerns that need to be addressed can be addressed in a sane fashion and with a formal and open debate.
I believe that a grass roots effort to draft a plain English (yes, English) bill that eloquently sets forth the desires of the informed majority of the U.S. population, might be the only way that something of any sense gets presented to the floor of the Senate.
I’ll be adding the link to the sidebar of RawFlyer.com, but for now you can check the voting record of your representatives by going to Project Vote Smart at (http://www.vote-smart0.org/index.htm).
Thanks for now, and get informed, stay informed, and make a difference.
