Our new little baby!!!!

Mom and Baby (and Dad and KD) are all healthy and happy!!! Getting tired, so this will short and sweet for now… but many pictures to come later.

No, she doesn’t have a name as of yet, but here are the stats:

7 pounds 5 oz

20 inches long

Born at 9:11 on 4-6-08.

Church Christmas Progam

KD had her St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday School Christmas Program today. Unfortunately Cheryl was unable to be there due to the winter weather in Chicago (her flight went through Chicago), but KD did a good job… no nose picking, didn’t trip… and looked very pretty.

Christmas Parade

Last week Charles City had a Christmas Parade right down main street… it had to be one of the coldest evenings so far this year!!!

KD and I went and enjoyed the show anyway, and then got to stop in and see Santa. KD was so cold by that time, I’m not sure she was so excited about it, but she went through the motions.

Sledding

Show Low, AZ

Our short trip to Show Low, AZ was a welcome respite from the heat of the dessert that I expected after being in Phoenix, AZ many times. At over 6000 feet in elevation, the climate is still warm, but bearable. Our trip was cut short due to the incompetence of others, and I’m sure that we won’t make that mistake again… but for the couple of days we were there, KD and I were able to get out of the hotel and enjoy the out of doors. KD and I went geocaching, but came up empty handed… it looks like the people that looked for that cache before us couldn’t find it either… but it’s still a good excuse to get out and hike around.

The first trail we took on the first day was only a mile long with little shade. Then we went to the National Forest Ranger Station and got some local maps of the hiking available around the area… then went back to the hotel to make our plans for the next day.

The next day I choose a trail that was only supposed to be 6.5 miles long with small elevation changes, but when we got to the trail head, they had changed the trail to make it almost 10 miles long… probably too long for KD. We headed out and ended up turning around a little more then half way through for our total length of 7 miles… ended up we were out on the trail for about 5 hours and KD was pooped. By the time we got back to the car, it was just starting to rain. We made it just in time. That’s when I shot the little movie of KD.

KD’s Gymnastics Camp.

Last week, KD went to ‘Gymnastics Camp’ for a couple of days and at the end put on a ‘show’ for the parents. Not exactly Olympic material yet, but I’ve noticed a great deal of improvement in her abilities in the last few months.
