I’m sitting in the living room with the kids watching Sprout on the TV… the kids without a care and not a clue that their future (and ours) is in the hands of the idiots in Washington D.C. that I am listening to and watching on the internet.

I do not understand how people could be considering the passage of this type of bill. The power and the control that is turned over to the Federal Government with this proposed bill has only been dreamed about in the past… not only by the progressive-Americans some 80 to 100 years ago… but this is what the Socialist / Marxist / Stalinist / Castroist (is that a word?) Dictatorships have wanted to do the the U.S. since they theorized their non-working Great Society…

The only way the U.S. will fall… is from within…. and this could be the beginning of the end. Pay attention. Do not fear. Speak with truth and honor.

Don’t Tread On Me.

Consider that a warning… you were elected, and you will be ‘un’ elected and held accountable. Pitch Forks and Torches.

Iowa’s Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) Laws are subjective and not in step with The Constitution of the United States, they need to be amended. There is a bill in the Iowa House that would bring Iowa Law more instep with the Constitution and what is right. Please check out H.F. 2528 and let your local representatives know how you feel.

Right now in the State of Iowa, each county sheriff chooses whether or not to issue CCW permits and to whom and who not to issue them. This is a totally subjective procedure to which there is no recourse if you are denied. This bill would change that and make the State of Iowa a “shall issue” state, meaning that unless a predefined reason can be demonstrated by the issuing authority, a CCW permit shall be issued to all that apply.

There are other points in the bill that are worth considering as well, like the length of time that a CCW permit is valid, and the ability of the State of Iowa to enter into reciprocity agreements with other states, as well as the education requirements for obtaining and retaining CCW permits.

Get involved and stand up for your rights. Go here to find out how to contact your representatives.

The Federal Government seems determined, despite the nations pleas to cease and desist, to pass Obamacare. Despite what some people believe, the majority of the nation does not want, or in fact, need this. This bill has been hidden and changed so many times, no one, not even the Speaker of the House, knows what’s in the bill. In her shrill words, “…we’ll have to pass the bill, to see what’s in the bill….” Perfect.

The tactics being discussed to pass this bill should be, and will be if the bill is written into law, a humiliating affair for all involved that have not been standing up and shouting NO. Apparently in the Senate, 60 votes are hard to come by, so a little used Reconciliation tactic will need to be used to pass the bill… in the House, the Slaughter Rule, which in short, will allow the candy of the bill to be voted on, and then the rest of the bill will be passed by association. These are some of the smoke and mirror tactics that we can be proud of…. NOT

Now is the time to call and write your legislators and inform them that we are on to them… even if you agree with everything that’s in the bill, I don’t know how you could feel good about passing any legislation using these manors.

(http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-111hr3590AS/pdf/BILLS-111hr3590AS.pdf) I’ve also, just tonight, stumbled upon what appears to be another pretty good place to keep track of bills and legislation here. (http://www.opencongress.org/ ) I have not looked around too much on this site, but at first glance it looks pretty decent.

Looking briefly at the two versions of the bills and from what I’ve heard… they are a mistake for this country. The backroom deals that were made to get the magic 60 votes needed to take a final vote in the Senate, were, I believe, illegal. Even if the majority of people thought that this was a good idea, this is not the way to go about getting the laws changed to reflect that.

Well, can you say bigger and bigger government and intrusion into your life??? I can, HR3962_ObamaCare.

Click on HR3962_ObamaCare and take a look at the nearly 2000 page version of the bill that passed the House of Representatives on Saturday, 11-7-2009. I’ll update it as newer versions become available, but nothing I have (or you have for that matter) will be current…. (this version was obtained from http://docs.house.gov/rules/health/111_ahcaa.pdf )
Hope you have a pot of gold buried in the back yard… your kids are going to need it…. now where’s your back yard?

Do you like charts?? This is an organizational chart for the original version of this bill… Now I know that whoever made this chart made it intentionally hard to understand…. but read that 2000 page bill and come up with a better one.

I’m not much for fighting the machine, but I, and I believe others, have reached a point of discontent that will not be silenced any more.

I’m linking to some sites that have been of interest to me lately on the right hand column and encourage you to read, learn, and become engaged. The people that are ruining (I mean running) our government, have forgotten what their jobs are… It’s time to remind them.

We’re going to be at the Tax Day Tea Party in Iowa City on the 15th, and I encourage you to find a local Tea Party and join in. Below are some ideas for some signs that I’ve found on other web sites… Come up with your own too… it isn’t that hard right now… there’s plenty to gripe about.

Free markets, not free loaders

We the People…are now owned by the Chinese.

Atlas will shrug

Stimulate business, not government

Honk if I’m paying your mortgage

You can’t borrow prosperity

Home ownership is not an entitlement

I’ll pay for my house, you pay for yours

Party like it’s 1773

Proud American capitalist

Repeal the pork or your bacon is cooked

Your mortgage is not my problem

No taxation without deliberation

Give me liberty or give me debt!

You can’t spend your way out of debt

Wake up America, stop the insanity!

R.I.P. Free market economy

Save trees, stop printing money

Don’t tread on me (Gadsden Flag or First Navy Jack)

I want your money (recruiting picture of Uncle Sam)

Wall Street got a bailout and all I got was the bill

TARP = $750 Billion
Stimulus = $870 Billion
2009 Deficit = $1.75 Trillion
U.S. Dollar = WORTHLESS!!

Just Say No (word “Socialism” with circle and slash)

Liberty is all the stimulus we need

Next Time, Read the Bill Before You Sign It

Join Our Cause: Restore the Republic

There’s a lot of information, but it’s worth it to be informed and be able to debate and discuss intelligently the important points that our government has forgotten and needs to relearn.

Stand up and be heard.
